The City of Richmond, Department of Public Works seeks an experienced candidate among City of Richmond Employees ONLY to assume the role of Bridge and Maintenance Operations Superintendent within the Bridge Maintenance Division. This role involves overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signage and signals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the maintenance, service, and operations of City systems, facilities/infrastructures, or traffic operations.
- Ensure programs meet goals and objectives, review risk management and protocols, approve purchases, plan jobs, coordinate scheduling, and liaise with vendors, contractors, City departments, or agencies.
- Monitor compliance with quality, contractual, or regulatory standards.
- Provide supervisory direction and support to paraprofessional and support staff, including assigning, overseeing, and monitoring work assignments and activities.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and audits for quality assurance and compliance purposes.
- Collaborate with contractors, vendors, City departments, and other agencies to resolve critical issues and coordinate program service delivery.
- Perform budgeting, forecasting, procurement management, and oversee major initiatives and programs.
- Address and resolve escalated complaints or issues, including outstanding work orders, plant emergencies, and other concerns.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma.
- 5 years of experience in Bridge Maintenance.
- 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Proficiency in Procurement Management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- 10 years of bridge maintenance experience.
- 10 years of supervisory experience.
