The Loving Spay + Neuter Clinic at Richmond Animal League offers high-quality, affordable spay and neuter services for cats and dogs to private owners, rescue organizations, municipal shelters, and community cats with no geographical restrictions. Spay/neuter is a key step in reducing animal homelessness, overpopulation, and above all, unnecessary euthanasia.
Position Summary
The Clinic Manager (CM) will ensure that Richmond Animal League’s (RAL) Loving Spay+Neuter Clinic (LSNC) operates effectively and efficiently, providing the best client and patient experience possible. The CM should have previous experience in the veterinary field and success in a management role. This role requires impeccable organizational skills. Candidates also must be able to clearly and patiently communicate with clients, staff, and volunteers with empathy and compassion. The CM will report to the Veterinarian-in-Charge (VIC).
Essential Functions
- Coordinating personnel and appointment schedules to maximize clinic efficiency
- Enhancing access to care for our most in-need clients and their pets
- Collaborating with other departments within RAL to further our mission
- Building, nurturing, and expanding relationships with our municipal partners, veterinary hospitals, and veterinary drug and equipment sales representatives
- Ensuring a strong, aligned clinic team recruiting, onboarding, and supporting new staff and volunteers
- Maintaining the safe and efficient operation of the Clinic, including ensuring compliance with the veterinary board code, licensing, and PMP requirement

About Richmond Animal League
Richmond Animal League is Richmond’s oldest non-profit organization committed to saving lives by providing hope, help, and homes for animals in need. Founded in 1979, RAL’s main goal is to reduce euthanasia rates in Central Virginia by transporting pets from partnering animal control agencies to our shelter facility. RAL provides temporary housing, medical treatment, sterilization, and quality care to hundreds of companion animals each year until they are adopted into permanent, loving homes.
- Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university
- 2 or more years of work experience in the veterinary field
- 1 or more years of management experience
- Degree in business administration or management, marketing, or technology
- Experience successfully managing a veterinary practice
