Summary:


We are seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Counselor for Foreign Born Children. This role involves delivering individual and group counseling services to foreign-born children, aiding in their personal and familial development.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct interviews with clients to evaluate their situations and devise appropriate clinical treatment plans.
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions effectively.
  • Maintain case files and reports, ensuring compliance with state licensing, certification, and insurance standards through written and electronic documentation.
  • Make referrals to community organizations for additional services where necessary.
  • Stay updated with required annual training hours and maintain necessary documentation.
  • Foster positive relationships with stakeholders, responding to inquiries promptly, and providing necessary records and progress reports for clients.
  • Participate in treatment planning meetings, contributing insights for case planning and addressing children's needs.
  • Assist in reviewing client charts and records, and administer surveys or testing as required.
  • Attend program and agency meetings, adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) guidelines for handling and releasing client information and medical records.
  • Remain cooperative, flexible, and responsive to after-hours emergencies or crises.
  • Act as a professional representative of the Agency in the community and workplace, exhibiting sensitivity to diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, decision-making, problem-solving, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Utilize basic Microsoft Office applications proficiently.

Qualifications:


Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling; preferably two years of post-graduate experience; licensed or license-eligible.
