The City of Richmond is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Council Policy Analyst. This role operates within the City Attorney’s Office, providing intricate analytical support. The primary responsibilities include complex analysis for legislative projects, involving extensive research, review of municipal budget documents, and collation of information from various City agencies, governmental entities, non-profit, and for-profit organizations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting in-depth research and collaborating with the City Attorney for legal support.
  • Drafting preliminary versions of ordinances, resolutions, and amendments.
  • Performing studies and providing relevant research and analysis for proposed legislation.
  • Additional duties assigned by the City Attorney.

This role demands senior-level analysis, involvement in critical programs/projects, and entails providing advanced professional analysis, policy support, and project administration. The ideal candidate should demonstrate adeptness in administrative and operational analysis to resolve technical, administrative, and legal issues. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
