Experienced, collaborative, and data-proficient issues management and crisis communications professional that drives internal and external communications planning and execution in a multi stakeholder environment. Serves as lead crisis communications counselor and situation room director. A forward-thinking leader that stays apprised of emerging risks, leads Issues & Crisis (I&C) planning and resiliency efforts, providing informed, objective, and actionable viewpoints and communications strategies for cyber, social, litigation, and other reputational issues and opportunities. Equal parts defense and offense—ideal candidates possess civil/NGO engagement and activism response experience, in addition to the ability to see around corners to risk sense and help defend and strengthen a company’s public position when issues and crises occur. As a consultative advisor to executive leaders, the position requires the ability and confidence to influence, provide effective challenge, and offer differing perspectives when advising on sensitive issues, understanding the audience, and communications best practices.

Develop and execute internal and external communications strategies for Corporate Communications Mission Control team in support of reputation management for the enterprise.
Helps design, launch and serves as director of Truist’s Situation Room for issues management and crisis response.
Works closely with business partners and Truist’s Business and Technology Continuity Management team to develop, manage, and evolve overall I&C Communications framework and category playbooks.
Serves as a lead counselor to executive leaders on matters of public affairs, social and reputational significance.
Leads a data-driven approach to risk management, risk sensing, and issues management reporting.
Maintain Corporate Communications policy.
Plan content/messaging and graphics/videos for town halls, conferences, speaking engagements and events.98. Provides formal or informal leadership to others and serves as a resource on complex solutions.
Drives the achievement of client, operational, project, service, and risk management objectives.
Create positive news to build the company's brand, advance our purpose, and promote our solutions and services.
Forge relationships with business leaders to gain knowledge, align communications objectives and goals with the business, and serve as a trusted consultative partner.
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent education and related training
7-10 years of progressive and related experience
Proven leader and demonstrated team player with excellent interpersonal, negotiation, listening and management skills; ability to successfully interact with people at all levels of the organization and counsel, negotiate, influence and inspire
Proven project management ability including managing the conceptualization and execution of multiple large, complex projects along with capability to make rational decisions under pressure
Strong, well-rounded communications skills including writing/editing, project management, publicity, and news judgment
Ability to exercise judgment in solving technical, operational, and organizational challenges in the context of business objectives and priorities
Knowledge of the industry's competitive landscape and an understanding of the market and regulatory factors that affect our business
