This unclassified position within the City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities oversees the Innovation and Technology division. It is responsible for providing leadership, strategic planning, and expert oversight to ensure the effective utilization of technology solutions throughout DPU.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide division-wide support to bolster program teams, drive implementation, and manage operational initiatives.
- Offer business, strategy, and operations support to various smaller functional and program strategy teams.
- Collaborate with peer divisions to share practices, tools, and achieve efficiencies.
- Lead or co-manage special projects within the Office of the Senior Director in collaboration with peer divisions.
- Act as a member of the executive leadership team, contributing thought partnership on operational and strategic issues.
- Support the strategy review process and articulate strategic priorities, including defining and assessing portfolios of work.
- Work closely with the Senior Director to manage stewardship, planning, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with peer divisions to ensure clear strategy communication and progress metrics.
- Foster inclusive practices, promote diversity, equity, and inclusivity within the work environment.
Qualifications:
Minimum Training and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in public administration or a directly related field.
- Eight years of progressively responsible related experience, including significant management and supervisory roles.
