Responsibilities


  • Actively shows leadership and creates a thriving, high performing team that is inspired to continually improved and exceed goals.
  • Initially work to learn and support the existing agency relation program to maximize people, process, and program insight.
  • Be externally facing and create and deepen partnerships with new and existing agencies in the network.
  • Create data-driven insights to improve outcomes and provide relevant information to other departments.
  • Work closely with Chief Collaborations and Programs Officer to fulfill and improve the departments overall programmatic and agency engagement strategy.
  • Build and maintain working relationships with community resources that support partner agencies.
  • Develop streamlined and effective communication tools to inform and manage Agency network.
  • Develop and manage Agency Relations strategy, execution, and budgets.
  • Work collaboratively with Feed More operations team to optimize standard operating procedures and policies to ensure efficient and effective distributions.
  • Work closely with Health Initiatives team to identify opportunities to improve network access to healthy food, expansion of healthy pantries, SNAP outreach, and other new/innovative programs.
  • Represent Feed More as a speaker, event participant, or other opportunity, as requested.
  • Stay abreast of food banking trends and help lead programmatic development, measurement, and outcomes-based activities.
  • Conduct Performance/Development Reviews for all direct report.
  • Research best practices with other food banks to make recommendations on how to identify needs of agency network, to work with Feed More staff to better meet their needs.
  • Work with Feed More data analytics team and external partners to identify key metrics and KPIs that focus on areas of food insecurity.
  • Make recommendations on optimal resource allocation in Feed More service area.
  • Provide positive leadership to agency relations team while fostering an environment of empowerment, collaboration, and organizational excellence.
  • Increasing network capacity in terms of healthy food poundage, number of agencies, and clients served.
  • Develop strong agency partnerships utilizing segmentation and other tools
  • Reestablish Agency Councils as well as regional forums and training
  • Ensure all agencies are in compliance with all regulations, rules and training

What we are looking for


The Director of Agency Relations is responsible for the oversight of Feed More’s relationship management for all Partner Agencies. Working with Regional Managers, this position will ensure that effective strategies to get “the right amount of the right food to the right people in the right way” will be executed. Additional responsibilities include: maintaining agency compliance with Feeding America, and other regulatory standards; developing and supporting capacity and client growth objectives; external strategic programmatic partnerships; and communicating and executing Feed More’s strategic vision to all agency partners.


We are seeking an outgoing communicator that is intent to make a difference in the community by collaborating and engaging in efforts to build and foster relationships and program development for Feed More and its partner agency network. This dynamic professional must be skilled in relationship building, communication and strategic thinking. Strong applicants will have demonstrated experience communicating with diverse audiences and utilizing data to improve customer relationships and programming. Candidates must also exhibit a commitment to embedding our neighbors at the center of our work and implementing client-centered practices.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of working in non-profit or for-profit organizations. 
  • 5+ years leading multi-person teams 
  • Must be passionate about work, mission driven, and self-motivated. 
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities 
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals and organizations of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and personalities 
  • Ability to meet crises calmly and show initiative and flexibility in day-to-day operations 
  • The ability to think strategically and develop strategies and models 
  • The ability to lead, coach and develop team members 
  • Experience and commitment to serving underserved individuals and families 
  • Must be strong independent worker as well as be able to work as a partner of a team 
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing 
  • Strong leadership skills, interpersonal skills, and collaboration skills 
  • Excellent organizational skills and project management experience 
  • Experience at data collection and analysis is required 
  • Ability to use research and data to develop and create strategies 
  • Ability to make presentations and develop reports that includes data and technical information 
  • Excellent training and/or facilitation skills 
  • Excellent customer-service skills and friendly with others 
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and conflict resolution skills 
  • Proven competencies in Microsoft Office products, including internet, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint 
  • Travel required within counties served by Feed More on a regular basis and outside our serving area when required 
  • Valid Virginia driver’s license and good driving record is required.
