This is a new role at HumanKind, created to support and implement an ambitious fundraising events program including executing one large signature event and several small events across HumanKind locations. The Director of Corporate & Donor Engagement will play a key role on the individual giving team to ensure successful fundraising, smooth planning, and best practice execution of events. The primary responsibilities include event fundraising (conducting solicitations and securing sponsorships) and the planning and execution of corporate and donor fundraising efforts that align with Development initiatives.
This role will work as a liaison between donors, the Development team, and the Communications team. The Director of Corporate & Donor Engagement will provide other support, including assisting with donor development activities and general development operations. The successful candidate will be driven, organized, and meticulous, with a polished and systematic approach. Demonstrated ability to solicit major gifts and interact with high net worth individuals in person, virtually, and in written communication is required for this role. The Director of Corporate & Donor Engagement will work closely with Development colleagues as needed in a collaborative effort to accomplish department goals and initiatives. This position reports to the VP of Development and has the potential for future supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for corporate sponsors, board members and major donor prospects for the Lynchburg Turkey Trot and other smaller events, securing no less than $100,000 annually in event sponsorship revenue.
- Use industry best practice standards for cultivation of current and potential new individual donor portfolio of 75+ individuals.
- Collaborate with Development teammates to recruit and engage volunteer/employee teams to execute fundraising events as needed.
- Oversee event consultants and liaise with venues and service providers.
- Create, plan, and execute corporate event timelines in accordance with overall campaign efforts and timeframes. Coordinate staffing of all events, run of show, staff trainings and other support materials, recruit volunteers. Work with Prospect Research & Database Manager on the creation of all Look Books.
- Create and maintain documents to track event metrics, as well as all event revenue and budgets.
- In collaboration with the Communications Director, oversee and coordinate the preparation of all event collateral and marketing materials, including solicitation materials, programs, other print and digital material as needed, and updates to the website.
- Plan and lead post event debriefs internally and externally; support post event follow up to donor prospects.
- Liaise with Development teammates to process contracts and invoices to ensure budget reconciliation.
- All other duties as assigned.

Some travel (day and overnight). Hours are flexible, with some evening, weekend, and/or holiday hours required. Hybrid position reporting to Lynchburg two consecutive days per week.
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in developing, planning and executing nonprofit fundraising activities and corporate fundraising events.
- Experience working and communicating in a remote environment.
- Raiser’s Edge experience preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
- Complete all required background checks.
- Pass drug test.
- Ability to reasonably meet the physical requirements of the position.
