We are seeking an extraordinary person to become the new Healthy Families Virginia Director to champion Families Forward Virginia’s (FFV) statewide Healthy Families America model. Healthy Families is an evidence-based home visiting model rooted in the belief that nurturing relationships early is the foundation for life-long healthy development. Our team works hard to ensure our affiliates are supported through training and technical assistance and quality assurance. The Healthy Families Virginia Director will act as the primary liaison between state and local affiliates and supervise the technical assistance and quality assurance team.

The Healthy Families Virginia (HFV) Director serves in the leadership role of a statewide network and ensures model fidelity and compliance by monitoring quality assurance, supporting professional development, and facilitating and guiding continuous quality improvement efforts of local programs.
This position articulates the vision of the HFV network and serves as the “face” of Healthy Families Virginia within the national Healthy Families America Network.
This position uses data, best practices, and emerging trends to position the network for the future and collaborates with other staff at Families Forward in support of the three home visiting models managed by the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide fundamental support for Healthy Families Virginia operations that includes supervision of TA/QA Specialists, implementation of policies and processes, and maintenance of model fidelity.
- Provide leadership for the adherence of the Healthy Families America Central Administration Standards and remain current on the best practices in the home visiting field.
- Champion the collaborative relationships necessary to ensure that the expectations of the national office, state level partners, and funders are met.
- Expand the footprint of home visiting by identifying strategic areas for expansion and working as the primary contact with local community partners on new site development.
- Ensure oversight of FFV Affiliate Agreements and HFV contract assurances with Virginia Department of Social Services.
- Be the conduit for communications between local HFV sites and stakeholders and troubleshoot issues to ensure contract compliance and revenue maximization.
- Collaborate with the Chief Programs Officer and the Chief Operation Officer to budget, monitor, and provide oversight for specific programmatic operations to ensure sound fiscal and system management.
- Work closely with the Research and Evaluation Director, the Independent Evaluator, and the Communications Director to provide input to the HFV Executive Summary.
- Represent Families Forward on statewide groups and committees, and inform Families Forward staff and network of relevant plans and issues; prepare and deliver presentations as requested.
- Prepare and submit reports for funding sources and others as requested that relate to Healthy Families Virginia.

- Ability to travel overnight.
- Master’s Degree in a related field of work or equivalent experience required.
- A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in leadership and/or management, nonprofit, grant writing, government, business and/or philanthropic organization.
- A minimum of five (5) years of human service administration, program coordination, professional and systems development within a home visiting program, experience with Healthy Families America preferred. Experience managing a high-performing team in a multi-site structure to include professional development and mentorship.
- Extensive knowledge related to child abuse and neglect, early childhood development and prevention methods.
- Experience with program evaluation, quality assurance, and continuous quality improvement.
- Experience in implementing primary prevention frameworks and programs.
- Experience working with national and state-level collaborators, local and regional communities, and individual stakeholders. Experience with group facilitation, training, supervision, and team development.
- Possession of a valid Virginia Driver’s license.
- Must complete required trainings by Healthy Families America (HFA).
- Willingness to complete HFA Peer Reviewer Training after one year of employment and complete two (2) HFA Peer Review visits annually thereafter preferred.
