Role Overview: The Human Resources Business Partner plays a vital role in supporting the citywide performance and career management process. Acting as an employee advocate and change agent, the HR Business Partner aligns with specific business units, handling all employee relations matters. This role collaborates across various HR functions to manage the employee life cycle, maintaining accurate employee data, and ensuring seamless collaboration among departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supports HR programs, policies, and technology.
- Maintains employee satisfaction and retention strategies.
- Coordinates citywide performance management processes.
- Collaborates with the City Attorney's office on employee relations and EEO risks.
- Ensures completion of relevant employee training.
- Manages sensitive employee and management information.
- Ensures accuracy in employee payroll and tax details.
- Guides employees on HR inquiries and requests.
- Maintains HR Service Level Agreement (SLA) and onboarding/offboarding processes.
- Embraces continuous improvement and seeks efficiency opportunities.
- Regularly reviews HR programs' effectiveness and suggests modifications.
- Stays updated on changes in laws, regulations, and policies relevant to HR practices.
- Works collaboratively across departments and anticipates future needs.

Qualifications and Skills:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business/Public Administration, or a related field.
- 2 years of professional human resources generalist experience.
- HRCI HR Certification (PHR/SPHR) or SHRM HR Certification (SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP).
Preferred:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
