This position is responsible for providing engineering, project, and day-to-day support for an enterprise infrastructure services environment that includes Microsoft Active Directory (on-prem and Azure/Entra AD), Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), Certificate Services, Microsoft DNS and DHCP, InfoBlox IPAM, Microsoft KMS, NTP, and Quest enterprise tools. The Lead Infrastructure Engineer is required to have expert technical knowledge and understanding of Active Directory including experience supporting large-scale and highly complex environments.


The individual will join a team as a subject matter expert (SME) designing and supporting enterprise infrastructure services. We are looking for an individual who has a proven track record designing, deploying, and supporting Active Directory in a large enterprise. The role requires participating on an on-call rotation 2-3 times per year. This position will require an individual experienced in system design and integration; risk awareness, best-practice security configuration; server/directory hardening; process automation and improvement. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, who works well with a team of peers and as a directly responsible individual with minimal supervision.


This position is able to telecommute and is flexible to location


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Performs problem tracking, diagnosis and root-cause analysis, replication, troubleshooting, and resolution for complex issues. In this capacity, performs programming and debugging activities.

  2. Responds to issues in a timely manner by receiving and investigating incidents or service tickets.

  3. Analyzes and observes trends with technical issues and develops recommendations for long- term improvements.

  4. Documents all relevant end-user interactions and steps taken to resolve incidents.

  5. Has occasional contact with end-users.

  6. Communicates status of issue resolution to internal customers.

  7. May engage and manage outside vendors.

  8. Applies in-depth knowledge of application support and an understanding of best practices.

  9. Typically leads moderately complex projects and participates in larger, more complex initiatives.

  10. Solves complex technical and operational problems.

  11. Acts as a resource for teammates with less experience.

  12. May have people management responsibilities for a small team.

QUALIFICATIONS


Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in development or application support or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  2. In- depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices.

  3. Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function.

  4. Ability to plan and manage projects.

  5. Ability to solve complex problems by applying best practices.

  6. Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates.

  7. Ability to interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems

  • Expert level knowledge of Windows Server Active Directory and Azure/Entra AD

  • Expert level knowledge of Active Directory Federation Services and SAML SSO.

  • Expert level knowledge of network communications and protocols, Microsoft DHCP and DNS

  • Expert level knowledge of Group Policy objects

  • Experience with Quest GPOAdmin, Change Auditor, and Recovery Manager for AD

  • Experience supporting PKI and Certificate Services

  • Experience with Azure AD Connect

  • Experience with InfoBlox IPAM and DHCP

  • Experience in PowerShell to develop complex automation scripts

  • Experience with HP and Dell hardware and Dell OpenManage Enterprise

  • Strong TCP/IP networking knowledge

  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or an equivalent certification

  • 10 years plus (10+) experience in Information Technology preferably within financial services
