Description
The City of Richmond Department of Public Works is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the position of Management Analyst, Senior. This position will be responsible for assisting the Senior Manager of Administration with cross-functional activities to provide consistency in key areas such as communication, standard operating procedures, workflow, and process improvement.
Duties include but are not limited to
- Drafting new and revised standard operating procedure and policy documents
- Analyze operating procedures
- Establish and Maintain inventory controls
- Provide logistical expertise related to equipment use
- Produce and maintain a variety of reports
- Input and update standing operating procedures.
- Inviting, accepting, and reviewing bids for special and routine projects
- Monitoring work assignments
- Serving on various divisional and departmental committees and task forces as requested
- Composing a variety of correspondence to include letters, memos, e-mails and reports
- Performing other related duties as assigned
Qualifications, Special Certifications and Licenses
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, or field related to assignment
- Four (4) years of journey-level professional experience in area related to assignment, such as program/project management or management/policy/financial analysis
- An equivalent combination of training and experience (as approved by the department) may be used to meet the minimum qualifications of the classification
LICENSING, CERTIFICATIONS, and/or OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- None required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge (some combination of the following):
- Analysis and reporting of data
- Audit practices
- Background in department of focus
- Education and training principles
- English language including the meaning and spelling of words, composition, and grammar
- Ordinances, government regulations, agency rules, and the legislative process

The essential duties of this classification may require the ability to regularly talk, hear, and see; frequently reach and perform repetitive motions; and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, finger, grasp, and feel. The working conditions may not include environmental hazards. In terms of the physical strength to perform the essential duties, this classification is considered to be sedentary, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects.
