Responsible for the overall development and maintenance of the Metropolitan Business League’s membership efforts. Must be able to promote MBL’s programs and services while working closely with the Director of Business Development. Should be able to work independently reporting daily when necessary to the President/CEO and Director of Business Development.


Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage, from start to completion, comprehensive and effective recruitment campaigns for membership development and retention, mentoring programs; assist with creating all membership materials, brochures, and advertising
  • Conduct new member intake and assessments for purposes of data collection
  • Responsible for sending out welcome packets to new members and conducting initial consultation
  • Work with Director of Business Development to develop budget for membership
  • Increase and retain current membership
  • Prepare membership documentation and financial records and management of database
  • Assist in the overall coordination and solicitation and offerings to members of various workshops, procurement opportunities, and business education training
  • Implement, plan and coordinate New Members Orientations, Monthly Recharges, Bi-Monthly Membership Meetings, and Happy Hour event series
  • Responsible for multiple projects; have knowledge of business/entrepreneurship industry
  • Conduct training and facilitate workshops when needed
  • Any other assignments as directed by the Director of Business Development
  • Participate as a member of the MBL Junior Board (BRIDGE), attend monthly meetings, and assist with the coordination of activities and community projects
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in business, economics, human services or should have some knowledge of entrepreneurship and understanding of how non-profits and associations are structured. 
  • Helpful Qualifications: Bilingual and should have experience working with a Board of Directors. 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience preferred with demonstrated success and understanding of membership, recruitment/retention and familiarity with current association membership trends.
Travel

Position requires promotion of the Metropolitan Business League during workshops and community fairs; minimal travel involved.
