Bring your energy and enthusiasm to the Richmond Symphony in the role of the Office and Communications Assistant. You will help change lives through the power of music by providing administrative and logistical support to various constituents of the Symphony.


What exactly would I do?


As the Office and Communications Assistant, you will have a mix of administrative tasks, marketing communications and interactions with Board members and outside vendors. Your day could be spent scheduling Board Committee meetings, working on meeting notes, crafting digital content, updating websites and social media accounts, distributing mail, ordering office supplies or equipment, coordinating technological needs, or attending a Board of Directors meeting. Evening could find you greeting patrons at a concert or assisting box office staff.

    Required Qualifications
    • A commitment to our core values of welcoming, passion, innovation, inclusivity and quality is required. 
    • A solid working knowledge of computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google docs and Google calendar is a must. 
    • Familiarity with computer systems, information technology and WordPress would be a plus. 
    • Highly developed time management, organizational, written and oral communication skills combined with flexibility and the ability to meet simultaneous deadlines, act with discretion and relate to a diverse group of people are all desirable traits.
