The Children's Emergency Shelter Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the shelter, including daily operations, budgeting, quality assurance, collaboration, and staff supervision. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in social work, counseling, or psychology, as well as two years of professional experience with children in a children's residential facility and in administration or supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the Children's Shelter in accordance with licensing standards and Department of Health and Human Services requirements.
- Directly supervise and evaluate the capabilities of staff to achieve program goals.
- Conduct staff meetings and individual supervision on a regular basis.
- Develop and monitor procedures in compliance with agency, state, and federal requirements.
- Encourage program development and innovations as needed.
- Prepare budgets and monitor program expenses.
- Interpret agency policy and explain program standards and goals as needed to staff, government officials, and the general public.
- Ensure daily activities for children and staff scheduling is maintained appropriately.
- Provide on-call coverage as assigned.
- Provide all reports as requested/required by DHHS.
- Maintain and develops working relationships with external agencies/programs.
- Organizes and/or conducts training as per DHHS requirements or staff development programs.
- Promotes staff professional growth through established training requirements.
- Investigates and follows up on all CPS complaints as required.
- Represents the Agency in the community and workplace in a professional and ethical manner.
- Demonstrates sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal, decision-making, problem-solving, oral, and written skills.
- Utilizes a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Required Qualifications
