Job Description As a Social Media Specialist at VPM, you will play a crucial role in guiding our social media strategy and tactics to increase content reach and engage with our current audiences. We are looking for a talented storyteller who can effectively share the wonderful work produced by our teams across multiple media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Tik Tok. Reporting to the Director of Digital Strategy & Operations, you will collaborate with various teams and help create engaging digital content that aligns with VPM's mission and positions us as a community resource and thought leader.


Responsibilities

  • Create, curate, source, prepare, and edit content for publishing and sharing across all VPM social and digital media channels.
  • Maintain a creative and engaging presence on appropriate social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and emerging outlets.
  • Collaborate with VPM's news reporters, content producers, and other staff to develop digital content elements that enhance the quality of our digital stories, programs, and strategic initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to connect with the community and audience through digital channels and work with the team to establish those connections.
  • Monitor social media trends, activities, and interests to identify editorial and programming opportunities for VPM.
  • Measure reach and engagement on multiple platforms on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Research and implement best practices on social media platforms to achieve high levels of engagement and sharing.
  • Design graphics and imagery for use on digital platforms.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and content performance metrics.
  • Assist in the implementation of web content strategies to improve internal and external communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or related experience.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in social media, web management, and graphic design.
  • 2-3 years of experience managing digital platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Experience working with CMS software, such as Grove, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics, Social Media dashboard tools (e.g., Meltwater), Adobe Creative Suite, and photography skills are a plus.
