The City of Richmond Department of Information Technology is seeking a highly skilled Technology Engineer/Administrator for the End-User Services team, focusing on IT Asset Management Administration. This role involves various IT asset administration tasks related to hardware, software, and service contracts for the City of Richmond VA.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Administering systems for tracking IT asset life cycles, inventory management, and software license information.
- Ensuring compliance with purchasing procedures and standards.
- Deploying and managing the on-premises version of System Center Suite and supporting intelligence content management.
- Defining, developing, and implementing technological solutions to support process standardization and improvement efforts.
- Maintaining knowledge management tools like SharePoint, SCCM, SCSM, and local product creation/dissemination systems.
- Providing support for Windows OS, Linux OS, and Database mitigation statements.
- Creating and maintaining documentation for quick reference/admin guides.
Qualifications, Special Certifications, and Licenses:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Considerable experience with asset inventory management, IT asset discovery, purchase order software, and database administration.
- Familiarity with SolarWinds patching/upgrades and software license tracking.
- Proficiency in creating user/administrative documentation respective to SCCM, SCSM, and training users on specific customizations/processes.
- Ability to interact with customers, translate requirements into working solutions, and perform daily maintenance on ITAM resources.
- Experience conducting training and educating end-users on O365 capabilities and collaboration tools.
Minimum Training and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
- Two years of journey-level professional systems and network engineering experience.
Licensing, Certifications, and Other Special Requirements:
- Preferred certifications: SSL, CISSP, IAT, VPN, II, AWS, MCSE, ITIL, MCSA, CCNA Network + and/or CCNP (or in process of obtaining).
- Proficiency in PowerShell, C++, HTML, Python, JavaScript, SQL scripting.
