The Volunteer Coordinator Senior ensures compliance with regulatory and organization policies and procedures for volunteer administration, including recruiting, screening, orienting, training, evaluating, recognizing, and retaining volunteers. The Volunteer Coordinator Senior manages volunteer programs for assigned patient area(s)/population(s), including development of new volunteer opportunities. The Volunteer Coordinator Senior liaises between Volunteer Services, leadership in assigned area(s), and other constituents for assigned patient area(s)/population(s).


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the process for prospective volunteers from application through all aspects of the onboarding process.
  • Work with staff and leadership in assigned area(s) to develop new volunteer opportunities.
  • In collaboration with department leadership, develop evaluation and assessment tools for existing volunteer opportunities to ensure relevance and satisfaction of department leadership and the volunteers.
  • Liaise between Volunteer Services, leadership in assigned area(s), and other constituents for assigned patient area(s)/population(s).
  • May include assisting staff in assigned area(s) with training and supervision of volunteers.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and organization policies and procedures for volunteer administration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field such as Psychology, Sociology, Human Resources, Public Administration, or closely related field.
  • Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of experience working in human services, including volunteer management and program coordination.
  • Experience with presentations to diverse audiences including leadership, board members, community groups, schools, and subject matter experts such as physicians and nursing staff.
  • Experience working with organization leadership and board members or community advisors.
  • Experience working with student populations.
  • Experience with computers and various software applications including Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail, database management, and reporting software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with volunteer management software.
  • Experience working with volunteers in a healthcare setting.

  • Manage the process for prospective volunteers from application through all aspects of the onboarding process.
  • Work with staff and leadership in assigned area(s) to develop new volunteer opportunities.
  • In collaboration with department leadership, develop evaluation and assessment tools for existing volunteer opportunities to ensure relevance and satisfaction of department leadership and the volunteers.

Supervisory Responsibilities (if applicable):

  • May include assisting staff in assigned area(s) with training and supervision of volunteers.

Additional Position Requirements:

  • Occasional evenings or weekends may be required for special events or trainings, as well as travel to offsite locations.
